There are several different types of prints available:
|
|
|
|
|
| Giclée |
Giclée (zhee-clay),
derived from the French word for “spray,” is a printing
technique for fine art. The
giclée print process
maintains color accuracy better than any other means of reproduction. To make a giclée print, the painting is
converted into a computerized image using either a digital camera, or
scanner. The resulting digital image is
then fine-tuned using
Adobe
Photoshop with a calibrated computer screen and printer.
Archival quality inks are laid down in a very
fine spray onto 100% cotton, Arches 140 lb cold-pressed watercolor
paper,
Moab-made Entrada™ paper, or a coated canvas.
Each print is then hand-embellished by the artist.
As with all fine art,
practice common sense when exhibiting and displaying Giclée
prints. Excessive levels of illumination or direct sunlight,
heat, or moisture can cause fading. All copyrights are retained by the
artist and this work may not be duplicated in any form without written
permission of the artist. Depending on size, Giclée prints range
in price from $35
to $250, unframed depending on the size.

Woodcut Blockprints
|
Serena studied under a Japanese
woodcut blockprint master
where she learned to transfer the elements of her images onto wood. She carves the wood, and prints from that
carving, creating a woodcut blockprint. The
number of woodblocks carved equals the number of
colors in the
print. The prints range in price from $75-100.

| Posters |
These
prints use off-set Lithographic
printing to
reproduce the original. This method of printing delivers a high quality
product at an affordable price, from $20-90.
